Milky Way Caramel Apple Nachos

Milky Way Caramel Apple Nachos: A Pinch of Glitter
My parents live on an orchard.  All of my life I have grown up surrounded by the orchard life: tractors, fruit-picking and selling, canning, and lots of orchard work (most of the hard work was done by the men in my family…I will admit that).  The orchard was my grandparents’, and my parents took over after they passed away.  As my family has aged, the orchard has become smaller, and therefore the work is a bit less demanding.  My dad and oftentimes my brothers will still work very hard to keep up the orchard.

Each year we get wonderful crops of different fruits.  Call me weird, but I actually don’t like apricots or cherries.

I do, however, love the peaches and apples!

And right now, :

We have SO many apples at our house, it’s CRAZY!!  All different kinds.

My parents will keep bushels of them stored throughout the winter.  It will save them and their whole neighborhood in case the end of the world happens.

A couple weekends ago I was visiting with my parents while they happened to be gathering their bushels and bushels full of apples.

My mother is always such an angel and has bowls full of Halloween candy during this season, so I, of course, couldn’t miss out on the opportunity of indulging.  I was in the middle of eating a Milky Way when I walked outside to see the trailer full of bushels of apples.  I hopped on the back and just stared (they’re so beautiful!).

I could taste the apples.

I could also, obviously, taste my Milky Way.

What a wonderful combination.

Caramel.  Apple.  Chocolate.  Sweet nougat.

Heaven.

I knew I wanted to experience this for real.

So I made it happen.  Milky Way Caramel Apple Nachos!

Have you heard of the new Milky Way bites?  (maybe they’re not so “new” any more?)  They’re little bite sized Milky Ways that are already unwrapped!  Talk about easy (and yummy!)  They also have the bites in Snickers too.  I’ll definitely have to get those… Snickers are my favorite!  I kept hearing about these bites from Ashton over at Something Swanky, and she finally convinced me into trying them out.  I’m so glad that I did!  Thanks Ashton!

Caramel sauce OR melted caramel
Marshmallow cream
Optional:
1 cup water
1 Tbs. Lemon Juice

Directions:

3. Dry the apples of any excess moisture using a clean cloth or paper towel.  (This will prevent toppings from sliding off the apples)
4. Arrange apples on a large plate.
5. Top with desired amount of chocolate, caramel, and marshmallow cream.
